Work, Play and Big News at Parallels APAC Summit

Sep 21, 2011

Off to Singapore for the Parallels APAC Summit. Looking forward to catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. Since reinventing Open-Xchange a few years ago (actually it’s more than 5 now), I’m still impressed by how close-knit the shared hosting community is. Despite rabid competition, most people are truly friends – and that makes for fun summits. I am particularly looking forward to saying hello to Phil Shih and catching up since his decision to leave Tier 1 and strike out on his own. Few people know this industry like Phil and I bet he is already quite busy.

But it’s not all fun and games. These Parallels Summits in particular (which have grown in size and importance exponentially over the years) seem to be a place where the industry comes together to show off better – and increasingly more efficient — ways to service the customer. We’ll be sharing our big news concerning a tighter integration with Parallels automation. OXtender for Plesk not only supports Parallels Plesk Panel and Parallels Automation, but Parallels Business Automation Standard is now also supported. Parallels Business Automation Standard is the first available hosting automation software that manages all business aspects of shared hosting, VPS hosting, and dedicated hosting from a single management system. This integration will thus enable web hosts and service providers to offer more advanced E-Mail and teamwork capabilities.

Web hosters, as well as their resellers, will now be able to enter into the business application market with us. They will also be able to easily replace the Standard Plesk Webmail in their existing shared hosting environments with our AJAX interface in order to deliver business-class E-Mail and collaboration features. With the integration of Open-Xchange and Parallels, hosters will be able to run their operations efficiently with our attractive features that will allow them to stand out in the market and increase their revenue per user.

For those of you who will be Singapore be sure to check out our integration demo at Booth #11. Also, come hear my keynote address, “How to Compete in Cloudy Times,” at 2:40 on Friday September 23rd. If you want to learn more about the Parallels APAC Summit visit www.parallels.com/summit/apac.
