Use of Open-Xchange Logos

Open-Xchange restricts the use of its logos. No other company may use Open-Xchange’s logos unless it has the express written permission of Open-Xchange, or is licensed by Open-Xchange to do so. To obtain permission to use any Open-Xchange logo, contact info(at)open-xchange.com.

 

Fair Use of Open-Xchange Product Names

“Fair use” of trademarks allow third parties to make reference (text only) to Open-Xchange product names.  Fair use only allows use of or reference to Open-Xchange product names in a context that is truthful, not disparaging to Open-Xchange and does not mislead the public.  You must clearly and accurately describe your relationship with Open-Xchange, its product and/or its services. Common types of ‘fair use”: 

  1. 1. Use of Open-Xchange product names by third parties is allowed by Open-Xchange without permission or license when specifically referring to Open-Xchange products or services

     

    Example:  Open-Xchange Server 5 is an open source groupware application.

     

  2. 2. Use of Open-Xchange product names by third parties is allowed by Open-Xchange without permission or license when indicating that an Open-Xchange product is compatible with another product.

    Example:  Open-Xchange Server 5 works with ABC operating system.

 

General Rules

  1. 1. The first use of each Open-Xchange product name must be identified in a footnote or attribution.  The attribution must be located on the page/screen where the Open-Xchange product name is used.

  2. 2. In the United States, the first reference in text to an Open-Xchange product name should be preceded by the word, Open-Xchange, and followed by the proper trademark symbol.  The proper symbol for registered product names is ®.  The proper symbol for product names which are subject of pending applications or are used in accordance with common law trademark principles is ™.

  3. 3. A product name may be used as an adjective qualifying a noun that is a generic description of the product or service.  The product name should be used in a singular form.

  4. Do not change the form or representation of a product name including capitalization or punctuation.

Microsoft, Outlook, Sharepoint, and Active Directory are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States, other countries or both.
