Whether your business is on-the-go between airports, or running between family gatherings, the fact remains: technology is completely blending personal and business lives. Throughout the day, devices including mobile phone, iPad, notebook, PC are all used with at least one email account but likely with multiple personal and business emails and uses. And then along comes social media with its rally to connect all of us, more. Just keeping up these days seems like my personal assistant needs an assistant to feed the content beasts of Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter (I don’t have an assistant by the way).
If you are like me, frustration-levels seem to be only rising with each new social platform or (un)connected app vying for my data and attention. Not to mention trying to find what social network I saved Nancy’s mobile phone number on or where is that one photo with my mom; or, how did I save that last version of that document?! Some are on the smart phone, some on the iPad, some on my notebook or PC or a server somewhere in the cloud. Ugh.
Note to my local service provider: you already provide me with trusted voice and data services, why not step up and provide me a secure, reliable and easy-to use digital life hub? Maybe even a platform where I always go to work in my daily routine—personal or professional—providing me with control and a central point of access to my data.
