Admin Groups

Sick of being the "IT Person" that everybody calls to solve their problems? Cut your disruptions with admin groups, a unique Open-Xchange feature that allows you to share some of your responsibilities without jeopardizing your reputation.

  • For example, say you work in a company with a high turnover rate in the sales department.  Avoid those dreaded IT calls by creating an admin group for the sales manager.  Now (s)he has the power to edit the sales team without your assistance.  Just point and click to add a new or delete a former user to the team.  A huge efficiency gain for any company - large, mid-sized or small, with a high-turnover rate or a small technical department - no training required.

Creating Resources

As the administrator, you have the ability to add any physical resource that may be used and reserved by a user. Be it a conference phone line, a projector or a meting room, eliminate confusion by allowing the organization itself to clarify who, what, where, when and how.

Resource Groups

Consolidate your physical inventory by creating groups of resources that allow users to select a collection of items, standard in a specific meeting or task, rather than reserving each individually for a new appointment.  Resource groups are executed in the same intuitive, point-and-click fashion as user groups.

Then Open-Xchange takes it a step further. Broken projector? Just pause, edit, or delete the resource so that each user can see exactly what is available and trust that it works.
Stressed on time? Delegate resource administration to the facilities department or any named person(s) of your choice, giving them the responsibility of maintaining the equipment.
